Candy Jarrito

Candy Jarrito

Need a fun centerpiece, take away, or cute gift for Cinco de Mayo? I’ve got you covered!

Make these cute candy jarritos and you’ll be sure to get a good grito!

I went to my local Northgate Market and was able to pick up just about everything that I needed. Lets get started!

Here’s what ya need:

  • Different types of Mexican candy ( you can get creative and maybe even do a little bottle of tequila )

  • Jarrito

  • Tissue paper

  • Bamboo Skewers

  • Thin ribbon or colored twine

  • Scrap piece of fabric ( you can totally paint too)

  • Hot glue gun

  • Scissors

Get Started:

  1. Take your jarrito and stuff it with 1-2 pieces of tissue paper

  2. I took a scrap piece of Cambaya fabric and folded it to tightly wrap around the belly of the jarrito and hot glued it to stay in place. (If you don’t have fabric, you can paint a design).

  3. Next, take your colored twine or ribbon - I used twine and doubled it - and make a bow around the lip of the jarrito.

  4. Set aside.

  5. Take your Mexican candy and carefully hot glue the backs to the bamboo skewers. Trim the skewers if you want the candy to be at varying heights.

  6. Once everything is glued and cooled, stick the skewers in the tissue paper (you may need to crumble some more sheets and stuff it in the cup to make the stick secure).

Listo! Now you have a cute, fun Candy Jarrito!

Let me know if you decide to make one and be sure to tag me on Instagram, I’d love to see!

Cheers!
